About Us

The firm Richard Herne & Co changed its name on 31 March 2003 when it moved to new premises at 113 High Street Staple Hill Bristol BS16 5HF. The firm was previously known as Rock Pulsford & Co, which began in Staple Hill in 1986.

Richard Herne took over the practice in July 1996. The practice has developed in the past 13 years from a small general High Street practice into one specialising in two main areas of property related work: RESIDENTIAL and COMMERCIAL CONVEYANCING,  WILLS, ADMINISTRATION OF ESTATES and POWERS OF ATTORNEY.

We are firmly committed to providing accessible affordable expert high quality professional legal services. We believe in developing strong friendly communicating relationships with our clients – you will be able to talk through with us all the relevant issues to be addressed in your situation or matter.

As a result of this approach, we have generated a loyal client base and high levels of repeat business. We have an experienced capable and positive staff group committed to good communication, quality work and the interests of our clients.

Richard Herne is married with three sons. He moved to Bristol in 1990, after changing careers and doing his professional examinations, to do his Articles at Osborne Clarke Solicitors. After qualification and a short period of work doing residential conveyancing at Osborne Clarke, he had spells at High Street practices in Weston-super-Mare and Yate before taking over this practice in 1996.

He has enjoyed bringing together his personal skills, experience and maturity gained from his previous occupation in Social Services (and life generally!) with legal expertise and tends to think of himself as “a born again lawyer”.

His personal interests and free time are spent in family activities, sport (especially tennis and badminton)  going to the theatre and watching football.
